Book excerpt: English summary: The proportion of young people in the total population of Turkey is three times as high as in Germany. A quarter of the young people in Germany have an immigrant background. What stories are hidden behind these numbers? How are young people and their concerns represented in the media and in politics? The papers in this volume address the issue of young people in a Turkish-German context in different ways. They take into account the recent protests in Turkey as well as self-representation and representation in young people's use of language, in films, documentaries and books for adolescents, as well as their status with regard to integration policy. German description: Der Anteil Jugendlicher an der Gesamtbevolkerung ist in der Turkei dreimal so hoch wie in Deutschland. Ein Viertel der Jugendlichen in Deutschland hat einen sogenannten Migrationshintergrund. Welche Geschichten verbergen sich hinter diesen Zahlen? Wie werden Jugendliche und ihre Anliegen in Medien und Politik reprasentiert?
